Sunday Hike in the Gorge

Today Mom wasn't feeling well so Dad took the girls to his favorite place, Columbia River Gorge for some hikes. We stopped by the famous view point for the famous view of the gorge. It was a beautiful day. Just look at the pics, how could you not love this place.

We hiked to Latourell Falls which has an upper and lower falls. I love this hike because it is easy and has some challenging spots also and the both water falls are amazing. The girls rocked this 2.4 mile hike in style. I had to tell them to pace themselves. I only had to carry them part of the way and the way back because it was a little steep.

We always have to spot and pose.

This is uppper Latourell Falls. You can walk around behind the fall and get a little wet. The girls thought the water was cold but later they were splashing and playing in it and didn't want to get out. I love our girls, they are adventurous.

We love to play in creeks, climbing on the rocks and logs, finding bugs, throwing rocks and just splashing.

This is lower Latourell Falls, awesome I know. That is moss on the side of the cliff.

Once again, stopping to pose. We found this cool tree to take some flashy pics.

And you have to stop at famous Multnomah Falls, not just for the scenary but for snow cones.

And to play more in the water. My girls can not get enough water.

Just more cute pictures. We had a really good time. We love to be outside and enjoy this beautiful state that we live in. Here's to being outside and here's to not watching a bunch of tv or playing on stupid smart phones.

Fun times with the horses

If you haven't guessed yet, our girls love horses. We always have to stop on the side of the roads to pet the horses, we always have to buy shirts with horses or coloring books, and we have to watch movies with horses. Well I guess it's better than Barbie. We love horses to and this weekend Mom took them with Nana and Papa to a friend's barn to ride some horses. And by the looks of the pictures they had a great time. They talked about it all weekend and they still talk about it. We will be doing this again. It always brings a smile to our faces seeing smiles on their faces.

Young Family Reunion

I think that these two love each other. We surprised everyone and showed up to the fun classic Young Reunion. We had a lot of fun as you will tell by these photos, enjoy.

There was nothing but smiles this weekend as we all enjoyed seeing everyone. We loved every minute and wished it could have been longer. We will definitely be at the next on.

We just had to take the kids over to see the horse. All the kids enjoyed petty the horse. Mark especiall enjoyed the bonding time between him Mr Ed.

The kids couldn't get enough of the water, it was nice to have a fun safe lake to play in. Uncle Devon, thanks again for the boat rides, we loved it.

More of our fun road trips home. Did you say fun road trips? Yes I did we know that road trips are usually boring but since we go on the a lot, we make the fun and stop to see fun and beautiful spots like this one.

Weeks/Durant Campout

Ah the Fruit Loop. This is our favorite place to camp up by Mt Hood and the famous Fruit Loop. We love this place because it is not too crowded, there is clean bathrooms, and plenty of sand for the kids to play in. And plenty of rocks for dad to play with. Dad loves his rocks. This time was fun, we played by the river throwing rocks, crossing logs and taking some fun pictures. The strong men carried back some big logs for the fire. Around the fire we had smores and told ghost stories. The kids just love the ghost stories. Next time we will have to tell some new ones. Then on Saturday we stopped by the Alpacas and the famous Packer Farms fruit stand for yummy icecream and shakes. Then we went to park to kill some energy before the car ride home. We had a lot of fun just doing simple things and not getting caught up in big activities. Love the fruit loop.

For Memorial Day we spent the night in the Durant's backyard. The adults stayed up late having a good time reminiscing on the good ol days. Then we had a yummy famous Heidi cinamon rolls, yummy. It was a good time hanging out.

This weekend we decided at the last minute to go for family campout. We went to Gale creek and camped for one night. We had fun making our famous rock statues, throwing rocks into the water and crossing over the river on the fallen tree. Then we just let the girls play in the water and just have fun. We had a lot of fun just doing whatever. We love these times. And the story about the moth. Addison found a moth and decided to help her find her children. Well she thought is was a mother. She spent about a hour with it. She didn't want to sleep until it found it's home. So we found the home and the next morning the moth was on the tent waiting to say goodbye. So sweet Then we had to stop by for our favorite ice cream at Tillamook Cheese Factory.

Are you kidding me, is that the sun in? Yes it was a sunny day today and we took our good friends Scott and Lauren to Saturday Market and enjoyed being in the sun. The girls got their face painting, Mom got her food cart foor and Dad got his avacodo shake. It was a fun day.

We decided to take advantage of the first sunny day and walk the bird sanctuary and take some pictures. We didn't see many birds but it was nice to get out and exercise. Dad had to carry the girls part of the way because the grass was too high and it tickled their legs.

Kathrine graduated from preschool today. Bittersweet. She is growing up too fast but we are enjoying everyday to its fullest.

Mountain Sky Resort

Yes we are the lucky ones. Kuni gave us a trip to Mountain Sky Resort in Montana for tow nights and three days in an awesome three room cabin (all expenses paid for) We flew out Friday morning and we were the first to arrive at the ranch. We were welcomes by the staff with a lunch already prepared. We have some yummy gourmet sandwiches and then we were given a person tour of the place. This place was amazing, they had big huge cabins, a pool and hot tub, a pool table, a big huge multi room and everything was decorated with western themes. It was pretty cool. So this whole trip was promotion by comcast and and MTV with CMT. They had given this trip to other businesses that used comcast for advertisement. So there was a total of four other couples there. We got to know all them very well because all the activities included the whole group. The first night we sat down to a big table and had family style thanksgiving dinner. Man was the food good. There we were introduced to everyone. Everyone was so nice. We were already laughing and talking like we were old friends. The sponsors were there from MTV and CMT, two gals from New York. Now they were not your normal New Yorkers, they were super nice and friendly. After dinner we hung out in the lounge are and had drinks. Mark had about 10 cokes and he paid for that later. Everyone just sat around listening to country music and talking. The staff was amazing. It was there job to mingle with the guest and that is what they did. We stayed up until 1 am. The next day we woke up early to an amazing breakfast and then loaded up the vans and drove to Yellowstone. We took a short trip of Yellowstone, didn't get to see much because there was still a lot of snow. But we had fun in the van with one of the couples, Joe and Alicia. We were joking and laughing so hard. We were laughing at our tour driving because she wouldn't stop talking. Some of the stuff was interesting but mostly just jabber. We then came back and had another yummy dinner. Man the food was amazing. We just ate and ate. We stayed up that night playing pool all night.Alicia is amazing at pool. The next day we woke up early for a little hike. The country side was so pretty. Then we came back for Alicia's massage and Mark went on a personal hike with one of the staff members. He found an antler which was pretty cool. And then we went on a horse back riding trip. We went way back in the woods high on the mountain side. It was amazing. Alicia adventured on on the hard trail where as Mark went for the easy route. Mark tried to gallop a little but was a little nervous. Alicia was a pro and enjoyed the fast gallop. We came back for yet another yummy dinner. Other entertainment including mingling with country star. Then Sunday morning we headed back to airport and found out that Alicia's return flight was never booked. So they got her on anther flight. We had to fly separately but landed at the same time. Man this was an adventure we will never forget. Loved every minute.

Memorial Day 2010

Memorial Day we headed to Idaho with Papa and Nana to visit Papa's cousins. We drove straight through whick is always fun, not. In Idaho we had fun at the beautiful waterfalls, played at a park and took some pretty pictures.It was a lot fun having a simple vacation.

Alicia is all superstar this year. She has been training hard and this weekend her and Lisa ran a 5k in the shamrock run. The run started at 7 am and it was a cold start. Dad was cold just watch them. They both did very well and it was cool to see all the runners. Go Alicia and Lisa

Mommy took the night off to hang out with her friends and the girls went with Daddy to Out of this world pizza. Daddy had never been so Kathrine and Addison should him all the fun things. They dragged up and down the big slides about a 100 times. They just ran and ran and didn't even want to stop for pizza. Daddy and the girls had really good time and yes Kathrine did fall in that picture. It was pretty funny.

Ouwies Mommy!!!

Our little Addison got a big ouwie. A curling iron fell on her harm and burned her pretty bad. She handled it pretty well. Mommy took her to the hospital and they wrapped it up. We will have to wrap it for a week and keep some medicine on it. So far she is fine and forgets about it until we have to change the bandage.
When she sees it, then she starts to cry, but overall she is being a trooper.

The Pumpkin Patch

We decided to go the the pumpkin patch this weekend and had a super good time! The barrel cow ride is what the kids looked forward to the most and when we saw this lone cow it was all we could do to get the three of them out of it.!!
The farm animals weren't that great but we got some fun pictures out of it! The kids liked the chickens the best!

We took the hay ride out to the field so that we could find our pumpkins! That was a lot of fun and we got this great picture of Heather, Nick, Nolan, Adelyn, and yes... Addison decided that she wanted to be a part of their family too!

Over all we had a great time at the Sauvie's Island Pumpkin Patch!!! We missed daddy though who was on a camp out with the boy scouts. Hopefully he can come next week to the next pumpkin patch on our list!

Granpa Young's Funeral

Our sweet loving Grandpa Young passed away this week and we journeyed to Utah for his memorial service. Grandpa Young will always have a special place in our hearts. We loved to visit him and listen to him to us all the fun stories of the farm. The girls loved to visit him and give him hugs and kisses. On time he even shared strawberries with girls. They still remember that special time. We helped the girls understand that Grandpa Young was now up in heaven with Heavenly Father and Grandma Young. They are young but we know that they understand. We enjoyed both memorial services and were blessed to be able to remember all the precious memories of Grandpa Young. We also enjoyed sharing this moment with family.

The girls are such good travelers even though they don't sleep at all. "Mom, Mark's girls were so cute and fun to talk to, but they didn't sleep one wink. They talked my ear off" said Heidi talking to Mema about the ride back. Heidi and Lucy rode back from Blanding to Portland and yes the girls didn't sleep at all. They have to be involved in everything. They have traveled a lot so far going back and forth from Portland to Casper, to Colorado and back and now from Blanding. They are a joy in the car even if they don't sleep just one wink.

Aubrey hooked us up with a sweet hotel room where we all sleep in the same room. Well it was two bedroom suite. It made it very nice to be together for this both sad and happy weekend. The pool was good for the kids to use some of the energy they had. You would think that our girls would just crash after driving 11 hours, but they can't pass up swimming in the pool especially when Randahl is there, and of course Papa Y.

Randahl was attack by both girls. Addison tackled Kathrine and Randahl jumped in to save Kathrine but found himself on the floor with both of the girls on top. They play so well together.

After the funeral in Blanding, we had to go to White Rock and climb around. We all had fun climbing on the rocks and trying to catch the lizards. Blanding is so different than Portland and the girls just loved to be up and running around.

But this one turned out perfect. Mommy is so pretty.

Addison went of with Mommy and Daddy to find the ruins, but we couldn't find them. Instead Addison found a cactus and sat right on top of it. Luckily the diaper protected her little bottom.

We just couldn't stop Addison, she climbed, ran, and climbed some more. It was so cute watching her have so much fun climbing, climbing and climbing.

Yummy, we had to get some famous fry bread. Heidi had three and we had to finally cut her off.

Daddy was having fun with Addison taking some cute precious pictures. She loves to pose and smile for the camera.

We stopped by newspaper rock and read the news. The headlines were a little out dated. The girls didn't mind, they just wanted to get out of the car to play with Randahl. A special bond was created this weekend and the girls kept asking for Randahl.

We climbed all the way to the top to experience this cool arch. The view was amazing. Sadly on the way down Mommy and Kathrine fell down on the way down.

Hole in the Rock

We had a lot of fun at hole in the Rock. They have added so much since the last time Daddy had past through.

We couldn't let the summer pass by without going to the fruit loop. We met up with old friend Bruno and the cat. Our girls just love to play with these guys and the dog and cat don't mind.

With all the orchards we went to, this is still our favorite. They have yummy jams, sweets and of course jummy milkshakes with fresh fruits. Daddies favorite is the blackberry peach.

We love this camp site because the girls can just play, play, and play some more in all the sand that they want. We didn't mind even thou they had a ton of sand in the hair, well should we say they had sand everywhere. The best place to camp.

You can't go to Multnomah Falls without getting an ice cream cone! They were so yummy!

Kate was actually cooperating and let us take pictures with her. Mommy and daughter look so alike.

We did it! We climbed all the way to the top... yeah right!! Mommy had to carry Kate down from the bridge!!! She was too tired. But we had fun anyway.

Our favorite place to eat at the beach, The Lumber Yard and Daddy got the 4x4 and it was delicious.

Kathrine just had to go the tilta world and she loved it. The picture is blurry because they were going so fast.

Run Run, the tide is going to get you. The water may be cold, but our girls have to get their feet wet.

It is hard to get the girls to take pictures, but we think this one turned out cute.

Addison loves all dogs and has to stop and pet them all. Fortunetly for her this weeking was packed with dogs.

The best part of the weekend was watching a classic, Waynes World.

For the fourth of July we all went to the beach. You can clearly see that this is the girls favorite places to go. They play forever in the sand and don't mind a little sand in the face or hair.

We had a fun easter egg hunt at the church. Kathrine was already a pro but it took Addison awhile to get the hang of it. She had to learn to grap as many eggs as possible first and then later open them to see what was inside.

We love the zoo and can't get enough of the zoo. Rain or shine we are at the zoo. Our girls just love to see all the animals especially pet them and try to ride them. It doesn't matter if we have seen the same monkey or the same bear, we love them all. Addison likes to see the big cats and Kathrine loves the big elephants.

Today the family went to park and the girls wanted to take their cars. So they had to ride their cars all the way down the path to the park. We had fun swinging on the swings and going down the slide. Then daddy got the idea to push the girls down the slide on their cars. Well he helped them slide down the slide. The family loves parks.

We decided to dedicate the next couple of posts to our beautiful, never boring Kathrine for her third birthday. Wow how life goes by so far. We were so excited when we first found out that we were going to have a child. Mark found out on his birthday which was the best present ever. We wanted to make the first one a surprise and it was so much fun just waiting and wondering boy or girl. March 16, 2006 Kathrine Helene Weeks was born at 9:14 am at 7.14 lbs and all cuteness. We were so happy to be blessed with Kathrine and she has brought us soo much joy. Enjoy the next posts.

Dad was soo happy to get his little girl. The spirit was so strong when she came into this world, all we could do was just look at her and smile. We watch every first move and she watched our every move. She did this funny thing with her mouth where she would make a funny popping sound as she would breath while sleeping. Look how tinny she was, just barely fitting in her car seat. We couldn't believe that she was ours. It was hard getting used to a new born baby, but we picked it up fast. The long nights were all worth it. Actually, Kathrine slept through the night quit quickly. We found out that we had to play with her and wear her out.

We took so many pictures of Kathrine, well we still do. She is too cute not to. These two are some of our favorites. She liked to sleep with her arms up close to her face. Daddy loved to hold her in his arms while she slept. The bottom picture is great with Kathrine giving her first shout out to her Mommy and Daddy.

Here was one of Kathrine's first adventure. We took the Max train to the Rose Garden for a dance festival, and boy was that a hot day. Kathrine loved being outside and had so much fun with Papa and Nana on the train. She was such a good baby, and we took her everywhere as you will see by all the pictures.

Kathrine was being adventurous here and climbed into the diaber box. Then once the camera was she gave us a big grin.

Good times with Kathrine

These was Kathrine first trip to the famous Tillamook Cheese factory. It's an on going joke that we have to stop by the factory no matter which beach you are at.

Kathrine's first of many camping pictures. We decided to start her young and she loves to go camping now. Auntie Paige was cleaver and rigged up some toys for her to play with in her pack and play and the camping chair. She was good sport and let us change her diaber outside and then fell asleep in the back of the car while we took down camp. It was also her first time a daddy's favorite spot the punch bowls. Daddy and Paige jumped in but nobody else. It was a success and we haven't stopped camping since.

Kathrine learning how to stand on her own. Kids grow up too fast and some times you forget about the small things like standing for the first time. We are glad that we took these pictures.

More fun with Kathrine

The pictures are not in order, but who cares. These were taken the day we moved in to our new house. Kathrine was excited to have a nice shaddy back yard, she loves playing outside. She also loved the bigger house compared to our old apartment.
Kathrine's first experience with snow and she sure loved it. Just like other times with new experiences we had to drag her back inside kicking and screaming. Kids just don't get cold.

The first time Kathrine sat up by herself was on the 4th of July.

First time in the swimming pool, and she swam like a fish. The cold water didn't even bother her. This was a lot fun and we were happy that she liked the water because we both like to swim.

Birthday Party for the Three Amigos

All cousins got together to celebrate Kathrine's, Chase's, and Elie's birthdays. All the kids scarfed down the cake, opened presents and Kathrine jammed out on the guitar. Fun family Fun.
Pinatas are always a big hit and luckily no kid got hit.

Day at the Beach

This was Kathrine's first day at the beach and man she loved it. Up top was our campsite and she ran of to explore. She came upon Patrick's car and climbed inside and then wanted to stick her head out of the sunroof. She is crazy.

Once she got the beach there was no holding her back. The water was cold and of course it was raining but Kathrine went straight for water. She got all sandy and wet, daddy loves sandy kids. Then she got the famous shower at the beach to clean her up, of course you never get all the sand out. Kathrine still loves to go to the beach and play in sand.

These are some of our favorites. Kathrine just wanted to help rack the leaves and she did a great job. Kathrine doesn't mind the cold, the wet, or anything, she just loves having fun.
Kathrine's first and second Halloween. Her first Halloween was soo cute watching her catch on to the whole idea of getting candy and each house. It was sad when we had to finally take her home. but daddy, more candy please. Needless to say we didn't let her have all the candy, that is what parents are for, to eat all the left over candy.

These were taken at a pumpkin patch in St. Helen's when the whole family got together for Addison's blessing. We had so much fun counting the pumpkins and spending time with family. Kathrine loves all her aunts and uncles and especially Papa Y and Mema and Papa and Nana.

This is when Kathrine first started using the potty, as you can see, she was very excited to learn to use the potty. Now when daddy comes homes, she tells him still that she went potty in the potty.
Crazy faces while waiting for dance class, we think we got all her emotions.
Our little dancer. Kathrine is loving her dance class, she has had two classes now and is ready to start her tap/ballet class next month.

Kathrine started a tumbling class this year. It took awhile for her to get into it, but latter she really loved it. We will see if we will sign her up for another one or just stick with tumbling.

Her first dance class finished, daddy was able to see her last class and she her perform. It was really special to see our little Kathrine all grown up. Addison is following fast in her footsteps.

Kathrine's first haircut. We forgot how long it was. This is when she started looking so grown up. It's bitter sweet.

Uncle Patrick and Aunt Paige has a corn snake and we thought that Kathrine wouldn't like him, but we were wrong, she loves it. She holds it and pets it and watches it eat. She is daring and crazy.

The good ol times out swimming in the backyard. It is nice having a backyard to play in.

All the crazy times we have in the bath tub. Bath time is so much fun at the Weeks home.

Some of our many trips to the zoo. Kathrine is an animal lover, it doesn't matter what kind. She loves the chickens, the birds, the monkeys, but sometimes the big black bear scares her.

Yea we know, she is crazy. Getting dressed for bed after bath time can be hard. We have to remember to just relax and have fun with our girls. Kids will be kids. There is something about not having clothes on that makes persons crazy.

Kathrine's first birthday and she is really catching on to the idea of getting presents, wit already one birthday and two Christmases. For her second birthday she got TMX Elmo and she had lots of fun with him, Addison did not. She was terrified of him. She also got lots of princess stuff. It was so much fun watching her open all her presents, she has the best reactions.

One evening we decided to make some yummy red potatoes and Kathrine jumped right in to help add the seasoning and shake the potatoes. She gets excited at the simple things. Uncle Patrick had fun helping her.

One night after unloading all the groceries we found Kathrine stacking the cans and the boxes of cereal. She had so much fun and she thought that she was the coolest kid. Well of course she is the coolest.

We had the whole gang over to celebrate Kathrine's birthday. She had a lot of fun and got a lot of cool presents including dress ups, princess clothes, and some more dance clothes.

We were over at a friend's house last Sunday and found Addison ontop of the table and then later Nolan climbed up to join her. Addison is our climber. Kathrine didn't like to climb, or should we say, didn't know how to climb. She still has trouble climbing, but Addison can climb just about anything. She keeps us busy.

The other day we went to the famous IKEA, and our kids know that we get to eat yummy food at IKEA. Well we tried to get Kathrine to eat mustard, and by looking at the pictures, she didn't like it too much. It was pretty funny, and we put on a good show for everyone else. Addison just loves to make funny pictures. We find joy in the simple things of life.

A Fun Family Saturday

Last Saturday we went to the convention center for the Kids Festival and had a blast. The best part was all the animals. Our kids love to pet and feed animals, even wild cows. Addison was a little scared at first, but after awhile she loved it. Kathrine would have jumped inside the cages if we would have let her. She is an animal lover.

They had some fun stuff to play on, and it was nice to be inside out of the cold weather.

What can we say, too cute. We love taking pictures of the girls together and they love being together. They love to play with their dolls together, read together, go to the park together and they love just being together. We love them so much and enjoy every minute with them.
